For pie:
9 Gala apples
3 tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
¼ stick butter on each pie
1 ¼ cup sugar
1 tsp lemon juice on each pie
Sprinkle sugar on crust
For crust:
3 cups flour
1 ½ cup shortening
¾ cup ice water
¼-½ tsp salt
Add shortening into flour and salt mixture. Add ice water. Mix well. Form into 4 balls. Roll out into crusts. Makes two 2-crust pies (top and bottom crust).
Place crusts into well-greased pie pan. Mix apples, flour, cinnamon, salt, sugar, and separate evenly into the two pie crusts. Add butter and lemon juice on top. Place top crust on and pinch at sides. Can be frozen. When ready to cook, bake at 325 degrees for 30-40 min (check these directions with mom).
