1 stick oleo
1 cup sugar
2 eggs beaten lightly
8-oz package of chopped dates
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans chopped fine
2 cups Rice Crispies cereal
Grated coconut
Melt oleo in skillet, cool a few minutes, then add sugar, eggs, dates. Cook 10 min. Remove from heat, add vanilla, pecans, cereal. Cool until you can handle. If too sticky, grease hands with butter, roll dough in small balls and roll in coconut. I find it’s hard to get the coconut to stick to dough, so I usually pick up small amounts of coconut and work in as I roll the balls. This is always a must in my Christmas baking!
