Okra
Salt
Cornmeal
Cooking Oil
Use tender, young okra, wash and cut about ¼” thick, salt to taste, add corm meal as much as okra will absorb. Add oil to large fry pan, about ½ cup or as needed to brown. Too much oil will make it soggy and real greasy. That’s why to add as you brown it. Cook on medium heat and turn often for even browning. Put on paper towel to absorb excess oil. Some people use flour instead of corn meal and some use both. I use only corn meal. I suppose you could add black pepper if you desire. I don’t. Enjoy!
