1 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
5 level tbsp flour
4 level tbsp cocoa
3 cups milk
2 tsp butter
1 tbsp vanilla
In large skillet place sugar, salt, flour and cocoa. Mix well, add 3 cups of milk and stir well. Place on medium heat. Stir constantly until milk begins to boil (just like milk gravy). This may be a little thin (will thicken more as cools). Remove from heat, add to tsp butter, 1 tbsp vanilla. Serve warm over biscuits or toast. All kids grew up loving this back on the farm in Arkansas. We had to create a lot of dishes that could be made with inexpensive ingredients that we would normally have around the house. We kids thought this was worth fighting for!
